Reflection to the article 'The fight Against Hollywood'

Image
For this project, I wanted to express the importance, origins and development of independent filmmaking. I analysed differences between studio films and independent film making. And I can say briefly that the difference between them is that studio films have a large budget and work according to the same scheme, while independent films are often with a smaller budget but more realistic and show life experience that deeply touches the viewer. I looked at examples of Avant-Garde cinema and experimental cinema and I feel they are among the independent films. Technically I was satisfied with the result, the article is designed like a magazine with images and attracts attention of the audience.

Research of independent film making

I will look here at independent film making - festivals, Sundance. I will look at how independent film gets known - social media. Independent filmmaking is useful for first-time filmmakers like me or those shooting with a low-budget,however there are other reasons someone choose to produce films outside of the studio. Independent films-are controlled more by the creator when it comes to the content, voice, and style. Without big budget and fewer crew members at their direction, indie filmmakers can be more practical with their film productions, and have greater freedom to tell the story they want to tell. When independent film been shot and edited ( and screened it to peers for feedback), it's time to show it to the world. Indie film festivals like Sundance or SXSW are some of the bigger festivals, those festivals can help secure my project a film distributor, which means that I'll finally have an target audience for the indie film when I'll made that. Research with an example of how an independent film made

Today I will doing research with an example of how an independent film made - Kevin Smith Clerks, The Blair Witch Project. 'There was no grand film career plan for me after Clerks', said Smith. 'The plan was to direct it. Making this movie meant we could show it to other people and get a little money for our next movie. We didn't think it would go out and hit a bunch of screens. I didn't think as many people who saw it would see it. I didn't think it would travel internationally.(Swinson,2020) I like the system by which Smith works.Usually he starts with very long drafts and whittle them down to more manageable, shootable drafts. While working on scripts, Smith then starts to cut pages, sharpen the jokes, and change, or sharpen points of view.  The film was shot for $27 575 and during this time director Smith was working in real life to raise this money. I can say his hard work and perseverance paid off and the film Clerks marked the beginning of his career in ci

What does independent filmmaking mean? Independent cinema is hard to diagnose and categorize. With no real consent, it is easier to refer to the common definition, that  any film which is created outside of the  studio system is called independent .    During the following years, ‘…independent film production fought the system of oligopoly, while rejecting key features of the studio-based system of production.’ (Tzioumakis, 2017). In my point of view New Hollywood Cinema gave lesser known producers a chance to compete with those prosperous opponents.  With the introduction and technological achievements of the time, portable cameras and sound equipment together with other filmmaking facilities were made cheaper and more budget friendly for these characters.  This helped them to create the films they wanted to, without the financial, aesthetic or ideological pressure of the major studios; which is a factor that can basically consider a film ‘independent’ alone. Target audience Research

Image
Here I would like to present my target audience research. Nowadays, everyone uses social media to share their thoughts, student achievements, goals and projects etc. One of these global social networks is Twitter.  Twitter is easy-to-use and even the prime ministers of countries use it.  'As of April 2021, Twitter global audience was composed of 38,5 percent of users aged between 25 and 34 years old.The second-largest age group demographic on the platform was represented by users aged between 35 and 49 years old, with a share of almost 21 percent.'(SRD,2021) This is just that category of people who may be interested in looking at the project that I am doing. Therefore,I will use Twitter to attract attention as many users as possible to share and evaluate my project. On Twitter, users post and interact with messages known as 'tweets'.Registered users can post, like, and retweet my tweets, but unregistered users can only read tweets that are publicly available. Twitter is ve
