Other reviews of the film 'Promising Young Woman'

 In this post I will look at other reviews of the film 'Promising Young Woman' and explain the angle I will take and what I will concentrate on in my review.

                                                        'Promising Young Woman'(2020)

I looked at the film review made by Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian news website and he wrote about this film purely from a man position  - 'Carey Mulligan is at her ice-cold best as a sceming sociopath in this fearless unpicking of entitlement and victimhood. This playfully provocative and ingenious rape-revenge satire is about a society that thinks what a shame it would be if the career of a promising young man were ruined over some alleged incident in which both parties were probably drunk.'(Bradshaw,2021)

Another example of a film review by Brian Tallerico shows that the author has extensive experience in writing reviews and compares scenes from other films: - 'Promising Young Woman' is a tonal roller coaster,but that's part of the point. Trauma often makes for swings of mood and decision making, and Mulligan and Fennel never forget that Cassie is a traumatized person, taking out her pain on the patriarchal system that enabled it. It's a film about a woman searching for catharsis that she'll simply never find. Look at the notebook with the names of the men she's taught a lesson - there are dozens of them.And there's a sense that even going right to the people who caused this pain can only do so much, wich is then enhanced by an intense final act. '(Tallerico,2021)

After researching the writing of film reviews, I came to the conclusion that it necessary to carefully review the film, sometimes stopping at interesting points several times and describing them.

The angle I'll take in my review is a bit of a feminist stance, but at the same time I will write how the main character is also angry with women like her friend and the dean of the university. In general I will describe the inequality between men and women and how the main character restores justice.

In my film review I will concentrate on the message that the main character Cassie sends to the audience.

Everything Cassie is searching for is one person to tell ' this is  deeply incorrect, and you are right to be ireful, this must not  have happened, however nobody wants to because no one wants to accept they have took part of somewhat so frightful'
